Unnecessary Use of Force Konami had an awesome video game formula that worked in Contra and Super C. The player must pick up briefcase-shaped power-ups, which are hidden within the destroyable environment of each stage, to move the cursor on the indicator by one increment. Neo City's under assault once again, and Konami sends a new soldier squadron into battle -- the Contra Force. Tap into your special forces training to devise unique battle plans and attack patterns, select weapons, and decide which soldier's individual strengths are best suited for the dirty deeds going down. Each character comes with his own weapons, skills, speed and jumping attributes. His shots will skim by your ear, but won't inflict damage. The game is built, as many other games in the 90s, on several levels or stages, with a side-view gameplay. The biggest difference in this game is that there now are four players instead of two to choose from. They consists of a semi-automatic machine gun, a laser gun that shoots a powerful beam, a fireball gun that shoots its rounds in a corkscrew pattern, and a spread gun that sprays bullets in five directions. The player can jump, crouch, and walk left or right in the side-view stages, and move in eight different directions in the overhead perspective.
Now the top brass knows the aliens have landed, and they've decided to send two members of their elite Special Forces corps deep into the steaming jungle to investigate and destroy the alien forces led by the repulsive Red Falcon. Both base stages no longer have a time limit and feature a completely linear layout compared to the maze-like designs of their arcade counterparts. Endure all 5 grueling missions, swarming with traps and terrorists, that take place in a warehouse, on a battleship, at a construction site, aboard a helicopter, and at C-Force headquarters. He arranges a meeting with his informant to learn more about the case, but when he goes to the meeting, he finds out Fox has been murdered by the crime syndicate. The game suffers from serious issues that affect all gameplay, all the time, like constant stuttering, slowdowns, poor controls, and poor scrolling. The whole action starts when Burns receives a phone call from Fox, who informs him that the Head of Intelligence is in danger. The ending sequence is also slightly different and if the player holds the select and start buttons during the credits sequence, a secret message will be displayed after the Konami logo.
This mission is no cakewalk, but if it was, they wouldn't have given it to you. With two players though, it makes the game very easy to beat because you do not have to worry about killing everything yourself. There are five stages in the game, with three of them played from the side-view perspective, and two of them from the overhead perspective. The game begins with a prologue sequence explaining the game's backstory, followed by a map of the Galuga archipelago, which is shown at the start of every stage to indicate the player's progress. Music was repetitive in a very obvious way. Hold your fire and don't radio in those battle plans just yet.

This version redesigns the human protagonists and some of the enemy characters to give them a robotic appearance. You get unlimited continues, but slowdown plus overflowing enemies equal a rough challenge.
